Manager’s Monthly Report
Ron Fussell our operations manager has presented this report of the operations and project updates for April 2015.
The crew responded to 10 service calls in April, three were markings and the others were turn offs, turn on calls, inspect customer shut off valves and meter re-reads. There were 4 private leaks identified by AMR. The total water loss was approximately 250 gallons per day. All of the leaks have been fixed and were attributed to running toilets. Shelbie had 7 stock transfers in April.
During the month of April we purchased 894,400 gallons of water from CLAWA and our wells produced 483,930 gallons. During the month of March we purchased 923,700 gallons of water from CLAWA and our wells produced 535,419 gallons. In April 2014 the total water delivered was 1,820,900 gallons and the April 2015 total is 1,378,330 gallons. The difference is 442,570 gallons a reduction close to 25%.
The total precipitation for the month of April was 0.00”.
Fire Hydrant Replacement Project – Juan is repainting fire hydrants and building small retaining walls where they are needed.
The Tank Site Projects – NV-5 is continuing with the preliminary work at the Sycamore tank site.
Automated Meter Reading project – Ron advises that we have installed a total of 625 automated meters to date. We expect to have all of the automated meters installed by the end of June at which time the project will be complete.
Aspen Construction has started paving in some areas and crack sealing will commence later this summer.
Well Blending Project – NV-5 is still working on the engineered blending plan.
At the Annual Shareholders meeting on Saturday May 16, 2015 Ron presented a comprehensive review for all of the shareholders present of the progress throughout 2014 on all of the various AVMSC projects; both those completed and those in progress.
Ron also encouraged shareholders, residents and visitors to continue to observe the water conservation requirements and tips provided by the office. Ron also introduced a new Voluntary Recycling Pilot Program. A recycling bin will be available in the AVMSC yard after May 21, 2015, and the program will operate during business hours on Thursdays and Fridays. Call the office for details and to make an appointment so that staff will be available to direct and assist.
