Manager’s Monthly Report
Ron Fussell our operations manager has presented this report of the operations and project updates for October 2014.
The crew responded to 8 service calls in October, five were markings and the rest were turn offs, turn on calls, inspect customer shut off valves and meter re-reads. There were two company leaks this month both at 800 Arrowhead Villas Road. One leak was in the service line to the Tudor House and the other was near the old pool area in a 2” main. Shelbie had 7 stock transfers in October.
During the month of October we purchased 1,152,200 gallons of water from CLAWA and during the month of September we purchased 1,123,100 gallons. During October we produced 411,688 gallons of water and in September we produced 519,388 gallons. In October 2013 the total water delivered was 2,219,808 gallons and the October 2014 total is 1,563,868 gallons. The difference is 655,940 gallons which is a reduction of more than 29%.
Tank Site Projects – The small water holding tank in the AVMSC yard is being replaced by Superior Tank Inc. Demolition of the old tank has been completed and the foundation work is complete. The new tank is scheduled for delivery Monday 11/24/2014 and everything should be in place by Thanksgiving and the tank is scheduled to be refilled, tested and back on-line by the middle of December.
Automated Meter Reading project – The total meters installed to date is 281. The streets that have been completed are Sunderland Court, Arrowhead Villas Road, Lords Lane, Knight Court, Dover Court, Bangor Lane, Sycamore, Altamont, Oakmont and Lake Drive. The Board has authorized Ron to order another 100 AMR meters to be received and installed by the end of the year.
Well #4 is still in the review process with the Department of Health Services to determine whether or not we can bring this Well back on line. DOHS is researching past records and Ron is negotiating with DOHS regarding forms needed for continued authorization and we will still need the final title #22 testing.
