Manager’s Monthly Report

Ron Fussell our operations manager has presented this report of the operations and project updates for January 2016.
The crew responded to 16 service calls in January, five were markings and the others were turn offs, turn on calls, inspect customer shut off valves and meter re-reads. There were 16 private leaks identified by AMR. All of the private leaks have been repaired or turned off. Shelbie had 3 stock transfers in January.

During the month of January we purchased 1,400,480 gallons of water from CLAWA and our wells produced 539,696 gallons. During the month of December we purchased 2,583,500 gallons of water from CLAWA and our wells produced 309,259 gallons.

The total precipitation for the month of January was 11.97”.

Tank Site Update – NV-5 is near completion of tasks 1 – 5 for the preliminary design of the new tank site. They have contacted the State and County regarding their permitting procedures and are awaiting their response. Confirmation of pipeline improvements near the new tank and contract documents for the contractor bidding should be completed by mid-April. RWM and Associates is working on the boundary correlations, lot mergers and the record of survey which should be completed by the end of March.

Treatment Plant Structure Update – Anthony Cuesta of Wolf Builders is near completion of the treatment plant structure. The plant is painted and all electrical is installed and working, and Tony is wrapping up the finish work. The Board approved the proposal by Engineering Resources of Southern California Inc. to prepare the engineers report for DOHS approval to allow the resumption of the use of Well #3. The report needs to be approved prior to the installation of the treatment plant.

SCADA System and Well #5 Update – Aqua Sierra was here on February 22, 2016 and they installed the SCADA system to run the well pump on Well #5. All of the issues with Well #5 have been corrected and Well #5 is working well. Additionally, the tank level monitoring issues on the Sycamore Tank have been corrected and SCADA is working well.

Shareholder’s meeting and Election Schedule – The Annual Shareholder’s Meeting will be held on Saturday May 21, 2016 at the Lake Arrowhead Presbyterian Church on Hwy 173. The 2016 Election will also take place at the shareholder’s meeting and there are two Board seats up for Election. Ballots and all election materials will be mailed out in April. Any shareholder in good standing interested in running for one of the two Board positions will need to submit a Statement of Intent to run and a resume’ by COB March 15, 2016.

Recycling Program Update – The recycling program has been very successful and Ron would like to thank the community for their cooperation. The recycling program is for glass, plastic, aluminum and tin cans and cardboard which must be broken down. A recycling bin is available outside of the AVMSC yard. Ron has commended both the staff and the residents for their diligent efforts toward water conservation which has exceeded the Governor’s 25% reduction rate. He would like to encourage our shareholders, renters and visitors to continue in their conservation efforts.
