Manager’s Monthly Report
Ron Fussell our operations manager has presented this report of the operations and project updates for June 2016.
The crew responded to 14 service calls, 7 were markings and the others were turn offs, turn on calls, inspect customer shut off valves and meter re-reads. There were 5 private leaks identified by AMR. All of the leaks have been repaired or turned off. The crew has been flushing and exercising valves and hydrants, crack filling roads, street sweeping, working on the Well #5 housing and digging for a drainage pipeline at the shop. Shelbie had 6 stock transfers in June.
During the month of June we purchased 992,596 gallons of water from CLAWA and our wells produced 923,528 gallons. During the month of May we purchased 1,252,152 gallons of water from CLAWA and our wells produced 559,538 gallons.

Tank Site Update – NV-5 and Ron met with DOHS and were given three tasks to perform. 1.) NV-5 completed the survey of the transmission pipe, it still needs to be recorded and dedicated. The other requirements regarding the booster station pad and the future 4” CLAWA emergency line remain. RWM and associates is near completion with the lot mergers for the new tank sites.
Treatment Plant Structure Update –The State has approved the treatment plant for construction. The plant has been ordered from ADEdge and the first deposit has been made. Engineering Resources of Southern California, Inc. (ERSC) is working closely with ADEdge to complete the plant before Christmas. DOHS will need to inspect and approve the plant prior to start up.
Well #5 Update – Harich Well Service is scheduled to adjust the level transponder in August. Juan completed the roof covering for the electrical box and the new Well house is scheduled for pick up on July 29th.
Shareholder’s meeting and Election were held on Saturday May 21, 2016 and it was well attended. The two Board members were reelected to 3 year terms of office and both Ron and Priscilla provided updates on all AVMSC projects in process, the status of AVMSC financial health and the projected goals and objectives for the coming year.
Recycling Program Update – Ron says that the recycling program has been very successful and Ron would like to thank the community for their cooperation. The recycling program is for glass, plastic, aluminum and tin cans and cardboard which must be broken down. Please refer to the AVMSC.com website for further details. Ron hopes to expand this recycling program in the future.
Ron also encouraged shareholders, residents and visitors to continue to observe the water conservation requirements and tips provided by the office. A recycling bin is available in the AVMSC yard. Call the office for details.
Ron has commended both the staff and the residents for their diligent efforts toward water conservation which has exceeded the Governor’s 25% reduction rate. He would like to encourage our shareholders, renters and visitors to continue in their conservation efforts. In the coming months Ron and the staff will offer the residents new opportunities for further water conservation.
