Ron Fussell our operations manager has presented this report of the operations and project updates for April 2014.
The crew responded to 6 service calls in April, three were markings and the rest were turn offs, turn on calls, inspect customer shut off valves and meter re-reads. There were no leaks reported. Two stock transfers were completed this month.

During the month of April, we purchased 740,100 gallons of water from CLAWA and during the month of March, we purchased 698,600 gallons. During April, we produced 1,191,313 gallons of water and in March, we produced 1,091,100 gallons.

Superior Tank in conjunction with TSCI (Dennis Lapore) was awarded the contract to replace our 24,000 gallon holding tank in the AVMSC yard. Ron had a plot plan drawn up and hand delivered to the County Building and Safety on May 1st and had to submit the contractor’s county permit number. Ron will be going in to the County office on May 14th to inquire on the status of the permit.

Bacon/Wagner was given the fire hydrant replacement contract last year and AVMSC has committed to purchasing 10 fire hydrants per year until the total 52 hydrants in the Villas have been replaced. Seven hydrants have been identified for replacement and Bacon/Wagner has replaced 4 hydrants on Mill Court, Virginia Court, East Victoria Court and Larchmont. All hydrants are operational however, some are leaking or are hard to open and we expect Bacon/Wagner to continue the hydrant replacements throughout the Summer and Fall.

On our Automated Meter Reading project, 50 new AMR meters have been delivered and 38 have been installed so far. An additional 50 meters have been ordered with an expected delivery in mid-June. The total meters installed to date is 118. The streets that have been completed are Sunderland Court, Arrowhead Villas Road and Lords Lane.

Well #7 was pumped and tested by Clinical Lab. The maximum contaminate level (MCL) was over the limit on two minerals. Ron is meeting with the Department of Health Services (DOHS) on May 14th to discuss treatment and production options for Well #7.
